I’m not going to say that this was a wasted state park day but I will tell you this was my least favorite State Parking day I have had and it had to do with my health. I caught a cold but I was not going to let that stop me. I hate wasting time laying in bed so I picked some parks close by to explore.

I tried to see Addison Blockhouse back when I began this journey but I was stopped by some no trespassing signs. Being the rebel that I am, I planned on not letting these signs stop me but they did! The fear of the unknown and the fact that it could hinder this state park goal of mine stopped me from leaving my car in search of the remains of the Addison Blockhouse.

I got back in my car and headed to North Peninsula. There was a 2 mile hike that I attempted to take but the sickness just didn’t allow me to see it all the way through. In defeat I got back into my car, driving along A1A, enjoying the amazing view, until I arrived at Gamble Rogers Memorial. There were two sides of the park; one was the Oceanside and the other was a campground with a mile hiking trail and a fishing dock. I braved the mile hike which was pretty cool and then I made my way over to the fishing dock where I decided to throw in the towel for the day! My body just gave up and demanded that I take it home to get some sleep!
