Torreya State Park was just beautiful. Torreya is a tree that only grows at the Apalachicola River and like so many other resources, it has been depleted by humans. There was a huge plantation with tours but we were unable to participate because we had Casey.

The plantation is on the top of a bluff that overlooked the river. The view was incredible and a little scary too. I spotted a 45 minute trail and off we went. The trail was very interesting with a lot of historical markers. Somehow, as we were hiking, it got hotter out. By the time we looped back to the picnic area I was hiked out! Andrew offered to go get the car and I gladly excepted. When he got back, I hopped and gave my legs a much needed rest.
