I’ve had the privilege of visiting the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse twice now, and both visits were unforgettable in their own way. The first time was about 25 years ago, and I absolutely fell in love—not just with the lighthouse, but with the entire town. Back then, it was the prettiest place I had ever seen in Florida. I remember thinking, “This is where I want to retire someday.”
The view from the top of the lighthouse was breathtaking, but what really stuck with me were my burning calves from those steep stairs! Still, every step was worth it once I reached the top and saw that incredible panorama.
Fast forward to now, and I finally made it back. The weather was perfect, the town was just as beautiful, and the lighthouse still stood tall and proud. But wow—Jupiter has definitely grown up! Let’s just say my retirement plans there are no longer realistic unless I win the lottery. I probably should’ve bought that little cottage I dreamed about 25 years ago.
The view from the top was every bit as stunning as I remembered, and this time my calves handled the climb like champs. Next time I go, I think I’ll try one of their special tours—either the sunset tour or the full moon rise tour. How magical would that be? I’d make a mini-vacation out of it and see what kind of fun the evening brings.
You can find details about tours and visiting hours on the Jupiter Lighthouse Website.
