It was New Year’s Day and I was driving around the Panhandle in search of wonderful parks to visit. This is the day I realized that some parks were actually closed because it was a holiday. I was feeling a bit bummed. While I was driving along. I got a glimpse of a sign for St. Joseph Peninsula so off I went, hoping for the best. Let me just tell you, going to that park was the best decision we could have made. I fell in love, once again, in my first second there!
The sand dunes were the most amazing dunes I had ever seen in my life. They looked like majestic mountains. My hike to the beach took my breath away, literally. It was not easy to trudge through that soft sand on my way to the beach. It was totally worth almost dying for. I didn’t want to leave, ever. I stayed until an hour before sunset. Leaving there was not easy for me but I had to move on.
