Waccasassa Bay Preserve had 3 ways of getting into it and Quin & I tried each one out. The first place we went was Gulf Hammock. The public ramp looked very scary to me, like a horror film was based there. We discovered quickly that there was not a place to rent kayaks so we headed over to Cedar Key.
Cedar Key was such a cool town. I loved it there. We grabbed a quick bite to eat & headed off on a boat tour. The tour was pretty fun and we got to see like 20 dolphins just chillin’ and coming over to the boat. My mom would love it there. The boat tour was awesome but it did not get us to Waccasassa Bay either. We tried to rent a kayak there as well but the shop only had them for sale.
The owner gave us a great tip about the 3rd access point so we finally hit success at Yankeetown!
One of my favorite parts of State Parking is discovering the cool little towns we have in the state that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
