Paynes Creek Historic State Park was a pleasant surprise to my day. It is located in the middle of the state so I asked my friend Brian if he wanted to go with me. He was home, in Orlando, for the Christmas holiday, so I thought it would be fun to spend the day hanging out in a few parks. We drove around until we found the hiking trails and off we went.
There were two options for the hiking trails: the catwalk and the bridge. We weren’t sure which on led where so we decided to take them both. The catwalk went around Peace River. It was a nice, shaded hike. It was just so very pleasant, filled with 1000 laughs, as we talked about a bunch of nonsense. The walk to the bridge was even better because it led to a suspension bridge! I don’t know why but I just love suspended bridges. We hung out on that side of the park for a bit before deciding it would be best to head back home and spend some holiday time with our families.
