On my way to Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park I was blessed to have a bald eagle fly right along the side my car keeping up with me for what seemed like a mile. It was a pretty majestic experience. I was so elated heading over to Charlotte Harbor but when I arrived I felt a little disappointed. I did read that the park was best accessed by kayak or canoe but I also knew there was an area that could be explored by foot as well.

In the State Park Booklet they mentioned the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center, which I thought I was driving towards, but it became very apparent I was not. I must have arrived to one of their more primitive hiking trails. It was not as appealing to me and the sky was changing due to the sun starting to set. I walked up to the trailhead and then I listened to my gut and turned right back around to my car. I decided that Charlotte Harbor was best explored on a new day.
