The GPS proved to bring me to some interesting places & often directed me far away from my desired destination. The next stop on this days State Parking journey was to be the St. Marks River State Park. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at San Marcos de Apalache. I was confused but I rolled with it & started looking around the park. There was a museum at there, that was an additional fee. I decided not to do the tour of the museum inside because it was such a beautiful day, I wanted to explore the outside world. I was given a map & the adventure began. Oh that map! There is one thing I will say, the Florida State Parks seem to have some challenging maps. It could also be the map reader but I didn’t find one in my journeys that made any sense to me.
I followed the map, to the best of my abilities, all over the grounds. It was beautiful there. I spotted two men fishing off of what looked like a small cliff. I had to go over and see how far down they were throwing their lines. I could not have asked for better weather. I tool a walk in history, enjoying the stories I read along the way.
