Topsail Hill Preserve was a bustling park with people everywhere. It was a little overwhelming at first because it was so big and I wasn’t sure what to focus on. I watched all of the people playing tag & Frisbee, and just hanging out, enjoying the day. There was a great buzz about the place. After a while I flagged down a ranger and asked what a must see would be since my time was limited. He suggested I take a short walk to the beach to see the sand dunes.

After a while I realized that the rangers definition of a short walk and mine were completely different. Just when I wondered if I would ever get there, a shuttle came by and picked me up. Boy was I happy to see them. We arrived at the beach and everyone unloaded and headed for the shore. I took by time, strolling through the dunes, enjoying the evening.

I made it to the beach just in time to witness the last sunset of the year. What an awesome moment. I laughed with the others, soaked in the beauty, took some pictures, and shot a Facebook live to show all of my friends how was spending New Years Eve! I could not ask for a better way to end the year.
