Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, formally know as John U Lloyd Beach, once a designated colored beach before the desegregation. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived at that quaint, little park. I just started walking around and looking at all the boats in a marina area. I walked to a couple of the beach accessed points and I felt like I was in the middle of a romantic movie based in the Caribbean. The water was glistening and many shades of blue.

I went back to a picnic area I spotted earlier and broke out my sandwich. I could not ask for a better place to have my lunch, despite the gusty winds. When my lunch was over I walked the park a little more and took a stroll out to the beach one more time before heading back to my car.
