I felt flutters of joy when I pulled into O’Leno State Park. It was by far the highlight of my day, even before stepping out of my car. I let the park lead the way & it took me to all the places I needed to see. The 1st thing I came across was a suspension bridge, they always steals my heart. It was long & crossed the Santa Fe River. Over the bridge looked very inviting so off we went. Casey & I found a hiking trail that was easy to navigate & a breeze to walk on. We wandered for a while, walking down to the waters edge and then up into the woods. We stayed on that side of the bridge for a long time.
I could tell Casey was getting a little tired & so was I. We had a very long day of State Parking adventures. As we were heading out of the park, Casey made a new dog friend. If you know Casey at all then you know how unheard of that was. I guess she enjoyed herself too & let the park calm her soul, at least for the afternoon.
