Lovers Key State Park was once only accessible by boat as a romantic destination. Luckily for George & I they changed that so we got to drive up and experience park. It was sort of set up in two sections. One side was full of hiking trails and the other side was the beach. Because we had Casey with us, George and I headed off to explore the hiking trails.

We wandered through the park, following trails around mangroves and under the shade of hammocks. I feel like we took advantage of all of the hiking trails. We got to see many birds including an Osprey, lots of waterways, mangroves, and all the other beauty in Mother Nature. It was a fabulous way to spend the latter part of our day.

At the end of our time there, we took turns staying with Casey while the other followed the boardwalk to the sand. The sun set on our day as we walked to the car. A perfect end to a great day of State Parking!
