Honeymoon Island State Park is the most visited of all of the state parks. I did think it was a very beautiful park but I would not consider it to be my favorite one so far. It has great appeal to it – crystal clear water, soft sandy beach, fun rocks to frolic on that jut out into the water, and nice romantic wooden swings.
I would say for me, one of the best parts of Honeymoon Island is that they even have a dog beach there. Of course, the time I went was one of the only times I did not bring Casey with me. Still, I think it is awesome that the park has a beach for the pups.
After I spend my time sticking my toes in the water, yes, I actually did that, I walked around the grounds to check out what the land portion had to offer. The Rotary Centennial Nature Center was filled with interesting information about the island and led me to a short nature trail. I took advantage of the swing for a few moments and then headed back to my car. I really enjoyed my time on Honeymoon Island, even visiting as a single woman.
