I arrived at Grayton Beach State Park as soon as the park opened. It was Memorial Day weekend and I knew the place was going to fill up quickly so I wanted to get there before the crowd. There is something very magical about being at the parks when they first open. Its like they were untouched, pure.
The first thing I noticed about the park were the beautiful sand dunes. I had seen sand dunes many times when traveling to beaches but the ones at Grayton Beach were different, taller than any I had seen before. I followed a nice boardwalk that led to a very pretty beach but I was not able to actually walk to the beach because I had Casey. Instead we hung out on the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery for a while.
Since we were the only ones there I toyed with the idea of just taking her down by the water but I decided against it. The risk wasn’t worth the reward. I was perfectly fine enjoying the ocean from a distance. As a dog owner I just find the rules to be annoying at times. I feel like as responsible adults we should be able to have our dogs on the beach with us but I do understand that not everyone uses good judgement and so the rest of us have to abide by the rules set. Younger Jenna would had said screw your rules! So, this is what maturing feels like? Interesting.
