When I first got to Gasparilla Island I was greeted with a toll booth. Once I paid the $6 toll I was free to roam the island. When I arrived the sun was just starting to set which meant my time was limited. I followed the road straight back, passing a cool looking lighthouse, and into Gasparilla Island State Park. What a beautiful place.
When I pulled into the park I noticed another lighthouse. I had no odea that island housed not one but two lighthouses. I felt so lucky. Since it was so late in the day the lighthouse was not available for touring so I walked around the outside to check it out. I toured around the white sandy beaches and walked down to what used to be a pier. The beach was very inviting and I could imagine it is a wonderful place to spend the day. I stayed on the island and watched and amazing sunset. I could not have asked for a more perfect way to end the day!
